My Neighbor in Need- 11/14 UPDATE SEE BELOW: Your Good Deed Doer organization needs YOUR help! Our truck broke down and needed several key repairs. Our friends at Carnahan's Auto Repair was able to fix all of it for a discounted price of $1,800. We need this truck to be able to do our mission. We have had several donors donate a total of $1,230.00 towards this need. However, we need help with the balance of $570.00. My Neighbor In Need- Older lady is in need of a warm winter jacket size 2x and snow boots size 7 (Womens). She only has a light zip up jacket and tennis shoes. With this weather change, she ins't staying warm enough. We called the local thrift stores but had none available. We are looking for a donation of $75 to purchase items needed. My Neighbor in Need - Senior Couple taking care of their grand daughter and struggling on a low, fixed income, are in need of a microwave oven to cook and heat their meals. Their 40-year old oven is no longer working and cannot be repaired. My Neighbor in Need looked around for a used microwave but we could not find one, so we are looking for a donation of $49 so we can but this family a new microwave oven. Neighbor in Need - Disabled man in a wheelchair, is in need of a warm winter coat size 3X. He only has a pull-over sweatshirt and it is not keeping him warm enough. My Neighbor in Need called the local thrift stores and no one had a 3X coat so we went and purchased a new one for him. Now we are asking for help to reimburse us $27.82 - the cost of the coat. My Neighbor In Need - Older gentleman, living on a very low income, is in need of Twin Bed System (mattress and box spring). He is currently sleeping directly on the hard floor. Conlin's Furniture can provide him with a new Twin Sleep System for a discounted price of $170 and they will deliver and set it up for free! Neighbor in Need - An elderly lady, living on a very low, fixed income is in need of getting the gas line pressured tested in her older mobile home. She cannot have the gas turned on until the line is tested for safety BUT she cannot afford the cost. With this, she has to use space heaters and lots of blankets to try and stay warm. She received an estimate of $800 from a large heating company, but we called on one of our professional Good Deed Doers - John at 5-Star heating and he is able to do this immediately for a discounted price of $150. If you can help her, you are asked to make a donation of $150 to My Neighbor in Need and we will pay to have the test and she will be able to have heat!
